Betty Djamous

Location
Panama.

Betty has always been the planner in the group—making lists, mapping out trips, and finding hidden gems by zooming in on Google Maps. After a career in baking and teaching, she made the bold decision to switch gears and turn her lifelong passion for travel into a career.

Now, as co-owner of The Bell, she brings that same meticulous planning and attention to detail to crafting trips that balance thoughtful organization with room for spontaneity. For Betty, the best travel experiences come from mixing careful research with local recommendations. She loves meeting people along the way, asking for their favorite spots, and uncovering places that don’t make the guidebooks.

A big foodie, she believes cuisine is the heart of any destination and is always seeking out authentic, memorable meals. Her travels are shaped by a desire to truly experience the soul of each place she visits. While based in Panama, Betty’s favorite destinations are Mexico and France—both rich in culture, history, and, of course, food.

South Africa is also high on her list for its incredible resorts, wildlife, and adventure. Whether it’s a boutique hotel, a scenic detour, or the perfect meal, Betty is passionate about helping clients create meaningful, one-of-a-kind travel experiences.

One Travel Tip

When you’re traveling, always leave some time to explore and get a little lost in the city. The best moments often come from wandering around aimlessly and finding hidden spots that aren’t on the map. Walk as much as you can, it’s the best way to really experience a place, whether it’s a cool alley, a quiet park, or a cozy café tucked away.

Your Most Memorable Trip

One of my most memorable trips was to Argentina, where both Calafate and Bariloche left a lasting impression on me. In Calafate, I was blown away by the pure, untouched nature, with glaciers and stunning landscapes everywhere. The town itself was vibrant, full of life, and the nightlife had a unique energy. I loved how the whole town felt like a tight-knit community, where everyone supported each other, and I met some of the nicest people I’ve ever encountered. Being in Calafate felt like being on a safari—every window I looked out of revealed something extraordinary. I couldn’t get enough of the views and spent my days exploring the natural wonders.
